The Organic Industry Innovation and Development Conference successfully took place in Xichong, Sichuan Province, China 26-27 June 2025. The event is co-organized by Organic Agriculture Developing Center of Xichong County, and IFOAM-Organics Asia held at the Jinling Lotus Hotel, Xichong County. This year’s Summit has been organized in cooperation with the International Society of Organic Farming Research (ISOFAR) and focused on “Low-Carbon and Climate Change in Organic Agriculture” and “Innovations of Organic Agriculture from Farm to Fork”. About 300 participants including twenty international guests and speakers attended the event. In the opening ceremony the participants received the remarks of IFOAM- Organics Asia President, Mr. Mathew John and the local VIPs.
The two-day conference addressed the themes:
- Low carbon methods & climate change in organic agriculture systems
- Fossil energy in organic farming
- Innovations in organic agriculture
- Innovative integrated agricultural model for urban organic farms
- Innovative supply chain for sustainability of small-holder farmers
- Rural revitalization

As side activity of the conference, the host provided special sessions on “Signing Ceremony” created the opportunities to have 3 Strategic Cooperation Agreement Signing as below:
- Xichong County People’s Government and the Development Research Center of the State Administration for Market Regulation
- Xichong County People’s Government with Hema Fresh on organic agricultural product sales
- Xichong County People’s Government with China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines on organic snack food sales
In addition to the conference, participants visited the exemplary Organic Village – an area of organically managed systems including the organic vegetable comprehensive production technology testing and demonstration base, Northeast Sichuan Organic Agricultural Products Deep Processing Industrial Park (Huang Laowu Food Co., Ltd.) and Modern Technology Seedling Center (Organic Rice Base).
Three IFOAM-ASIA board members included Mathew John (President), Ada Qin (China), and Yoko Taniguchi (Japan) actively contributed in different sessions and as invited international speakers.


The outcomes of this event support a comprehensive full-chain industrial system integrating policy support, ecological conservation, industrial development, quality and safety assurance, and market distribution.
The participants acknowledged Jennifer Chang (Executive Director, IFOAM-Organics Asia), Shaikh Tanveer Hossain (Director of Policy and Strategy, IFOAM-Organics Asia) who provided a wonderful management to organize different sessions from very beginning till end of the conference with hard work, attention to details, and the positive impact of their efforts.
