Exploring the Transition from Agriculture to “Agri-Life”
September 10–12, 2026
Mohanong House, Goesan County, Chungbuk Province, South Korea
Co-organized by Association Nong and IFOAM – Organics Asia, with support from various central government agencies in South Korea, the 2026 NongGathering Korea FESTA & FORUM will bring together farmers, rural innovators, researchers, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and international partners to explore new visions for rural life and ecological transition.
Centered around the theme “Agri-Culture Lifestyle Transition,” the event examines the shift from agriculture as production toward a broader concept of “agri-life” — a way of living, working, learning, and building relationships through agricultural and rural practices.
Designed as an integrated FESTA and FORUM, the gathering combines policy dialogue, international exchange, exhibitions, food culture, networking, and hands-on experiences. Participants will engage with Korean and international experts from organizations including IFOAM – Organics Asia and the Global Alliance of Organic Districts (GAOD), while exploring emerging models for sustainability, community building, rural revitalization, and ecological living.
At the heart of the event are three thematic pillars:
- EAT: CULTURE — food traditions, regional cuisine, and lifestyle culture
- PLAY: NONG — agri-based experiences, field activities, and interactive programs
- LOVE: PEOPLE — collaboration, networks, and people-centered rural communities
The FORUM component will feature country case studies, thematic leader talks, panel discussions, and in-depth conversations around entrepreneurship, technology, ecology, culture, and community networks. The FESTA component will focus on immersive experiences through exhibitions, regional showcases, communal dining, agri-content programs, and networking opportunities.
By bringing together diverse stakeholders from across sectors and countries, the 2026 NongGathering Korea FESTA & FORUM aims to create meaningful dialogue, strengthen international collaboration, and explore how agri-life can shape more sustainable and connected futures.
Further program details and participation information will be announced soon.
